The Personal Health Train<\/a> (PHT) is one of the last five nominees for the prestigious\u00a0Dutch Computable Awards 2020, in the care project cluster. The\u00a0PHT consortium, being also a GO FAIR Implementation Network<\/a>, collaborates with other partners to develop an infrastructure\u00a0where personal data will be securely shared and documented. It is a distributed\u00a0infrastructure that enables the use and reuse of health data for the benefit of\u00a0individuals and society. The PHT aims to advance health, healthcare and biomedical\u00a0science through a shared infrastructure to support data management (healthcare\u00a0data, health & lifestyle data, and biomedical research data), data analysis, and\u00a0medical decision-making.<\/p>\n

It is important to state that the data remains at the local data location. The patient\u00a0data never leaves the hospital, personal locker or country, without consent of the\u00a0data-owner. Rather, a \u2018train\u2019 (algorithm) visits several data locations and analyses the\u00a0data on the spot, only taking the outcomes of a particular research question along on\u00a0its trip. The Personal Health Train concept has proven to be successful in small-scale\u00a0projects, and has caught the attention of the Computable Awards.<\/p>\n
