Stay tuned!
Also worth mentioning is that in July 2021 the science ministers of the G7 countries met and discussed, among other things, strengthening international research cooperation. As a result the G7 Research Compact was adopted, which emphasizes further promotion of open science efforts. The G7 nations commit to work together to “explore incentives, including enhancements to research assessment that foster recognition and reward collaboration across all disciplines and topics to drive a culture of rapid sharing of knowledge, data, software, code and other research resources”, and to “investigate how open science practices help achieve increasingly robust, reliable and impactful research outcomes”.
In this context we would like to draw your attention to the initiatives of our partners under Data Together, CODATA and RDA, who both aim to contribute to an increased collaboration, alignment and interoperability of the regional open science infrastructures by activities under the CODATA’s Global Open Science Cloud (GOSC) and RDA’s Global Open Research Commons (GORC). At the end of June, CODATA held a virtual event to introduce the GOSC initiative and to invite participation in the initial GOSC Working Groups and Case Studies.

Fall is just around the corner, and surely your calendar will quickly fill up again. Therefore, we would like to highlight two upcoming Data Stewardship Competence Centers IN activities: On 4-5 October 2021 the National Chapters Brazil, Denmark, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Switzerland and US will gather to share their knowledge and plan joint activities. Following this workshop, the German chapter “GO UNITE!” will meet on 29 October to discuss and collaborate on topics revolving around training in research data management.
